COMPLEMENTARY COURSE IN IN ELECTRONICS

Course objectives

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. The aim of this course is to provide to the student, who has already learned the basics of electronics in Elettronica, further tools needed to understand and analyze complex electronic systems. In particular, the course aims to provide deeper analysis skills on analog electronic systems, by taking into account basic multidevice stages (cascode, current mirror, differential pair) and studying the issues of cascading amplifier stages, of the frequency behavior of the amplifiers, and of the application of negative feedback. CAPABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. The course provides the capability of analyzing analog circuits composed of several transistors, and based on feedback techniques. MAKING AUTONOMOUS JUDGEMENTS. At the end of this course, the student will be able to analyze analog electronic systems composed by more than one active device, and will know the properties of basic multidevice topologies (cascode, current mirrors, differential pair). They will be able to analyze the frequency behavior of open-loop amplifiers, and to study non-ideal negative feedback systems. COMMUNICATE SKILLS. LEARNING SKILLS. The course provides the basis for further studies in analog electronics, giving to the students the needed skills to autonomously analyze complex circuits.
