Cybersecurity

The final examination may pertain to a project-based activity, research, methodological work, or internship, carried out at an industrial facility, public research institutions, or the university's own laboratories. The work submitted must demonstrate that the student has acquired proficiency in cybersecurity methodologies and their application in a specific sector, at a level of competence aligned with the demands of technological innovation processes. The final exam will be structured in a way that provides a significant credential for the graduate's entry into the workforce.
The final mster's degree examination consists of the presentation and discussion of an original project, along with a report supervised by a advisor.

When to Request the Thesis
During the second year of the program, with at least 60 credits earned, and at least six months before the graduation session in which you intend to graduate.  
Each student independently selects their thesis topic and supervisor based on their academic interests.  
Internal Thesis
This involves writing, presenting, and defending an original written thesis, independently developed by the student under the guidance of a faculty member at Sapienza University of Rome, who acts as the thesis supervisor. The supervisor signs the thesis assignment document.  
External Thesis
This involves an external training project outside Sapienza, as well as writing, presenting, and defending a thesis under the guidance of a supervisor who is not affiliated with the university and/or at an external institution. In this case, students must access the Sapienza TSP system and identify an internal supervisor from their degree program.  
For this type of thesis, the graduating student must appoint an internal supervisor from the degree program. Each external thesis must include a training project (from the Sapienza TSP system) to be uploaded along with the thesis assignment document, signed by the internal supervisor.

The supervisor must approve the graduation application in Infostud.

UPLOAD FINAL THESIS TO INFOSTUD AND SEND PDF TO THE STUDENT OFFICE
Only after completing this step will the candidate be officially admitted to the graduation session. The final, unmodifiable thesis must be uploaded according to the deadlines in the graduation session schedule. The uploaded thesis must also be sent as an attachment to segr.didattica@di.uniroma1.it following the personal instructions received via email.  
Important: The thesis upload deadline is only indicated in the specific degree program’s calendar and does not follow the university-wide graduation reminder.

Before the Graduation Ceremony
At least 7 days before the graduation date, after publication on the "Graduation" page, a technician will send an email to schedule an appointment in the classroom to test the projector connection with the student's computer.  
No printed thesis is required.

1. Types of Theses and Points Attribution
Experimental/Analytical Theses:

• Objective: to contribute to the advancement of the state of the art.
• Point increment for the thesis work:
  • 6 points: just sufficient contribution.
  • 7 points: good original and innovative contribution
    • Note: requires a counter-report by a supervisor other than the thesis advisor.
  • 8 points: contribution that substantially improves the state of the art
    • Note: requires a counter-report
    • Note: the main contribution must be subject to international scientific publication (“submitted”).

2. Awarding the Degree with Honors (Lode)

• Minimum Requirement: final score ≥113 (rounded to the nearest whole number).

Calculation of the final score:

1. Base score: weighted average of exam grades (as reported in the Curriculum Certificate from Infostud).
2. Additional increments (max 10 points total):
   • 0–8 points for the thesis evaluation (as detailed above).
   • +1 point if the student graduates within 2 academic years from enrollment in the Master's degree in Cybersecurity.
   • +1 point if the student has at least three exams with a grade of 30 with honors.

3. Thesis Presentation

• Format: plenary session before a commission of at least 7 professors.
• Duration: 20 minutes for the presentation and any questions from the commission.

Honours Programmes aim to enhance the training of meritorious students who are enrolled in a degree programme and are interested in further studies and cultural integration activities.
Honours Programmes, which includes additional educational activities and provide a special certificate, are promoted by individual faculties through annual calls (Transparency Portal, Call for Proposals - Scholarships and Training).
At the end of the programme, students on Honours Programmes will receive full compensation for their last year of tuition fees.

Il Career Service di Sapienza supporta le studentesse, gli studenti, le laureate e i laureati nella delicata fase di transizione dal percorso universitario al mondo del lavoro, fornendo diversi servizi tra i quali:

L'accompagnamento al lavoro si concretizza con specifiche attività organizzate dal Career Service e/o da Facoltà e altre strutture di Ateneo o in collaborazione con aziende, enti esterni pubblici o privati ed associazioni di categoria.
Le attività di orientamento al lavoro possono consistere in seminari, workshop ed eventi tematici sull'orientamento al lavoro, sulle competenze trasversali e su career management skills (ad es. soft skills, redazione del cv, strategie per la ricerca attiva di lavoro, video curriculum, social network, Employability Lab ecc.)
Per favorire l'incontro con le aziende e gli enti, vengono organizzati Recruiting day, Career Day, Testimonial day, Presentazioni aziendali, visite aziendali, Assessment, Business Game, programmi di mentoring o altre iniziative inerenti al placement, comprensive di quelle con gli Alumni e le mentorship aziendali. Tali eventi possono essere realizzati sia online che in presenza e sono finalizzati alla ricerca dei profili più idonei per le opportunità professionali offerte dalle imprese.
Sono a disposizione di studentesse e studenti, laureate e laureati anche seminari, workshop ed eventi tematici dedicati al placement (ad es. innovazione, start-up, incubazione di impresa, focus sulle professioni, Innovation Camp, ecc.).

• creare e personalizzare il proprio CV;
• candidarsi alle opportunità di lavoro in linea con il proprio profilo curriculare;

Ogni anno il Career Service organizza il Career Day di Ateneo, dedicato a studentesse e studenti, laureate e laureati di tutte le undici Facoltà della Sapienza, nonché diversi Career Day di Area tematica o di Facoltà quali ad esempio: Career Day Scienze Umane e Sociali; Career Day Scienze Economiche e Giuridiche; Career Day STEM.

***Attività del CdS***
Ogni anno il Dipartimento di Informatica organizza gli ITMeeting, incontri strutturati tra aziende operanti nel settore informatico e studentesse, studenti, laureate e laureati dei corsi di studio in cui è coinvolto il Dipartimento di Informatica (inclusa la Laurea Magistrale in Cybersecurity).

Gli ITMeeting si svolgono con cadenza semestrale, generalmente nei mesi di dicembre e di giugno, in prossimità delle sessioni di laurea. Gli ITMeeting permettono di accogliere presso il Dipartimento di Informatica aziende produttrici o grandi utilizzatrici di soluzioni informatiche, attive a livello locale, nazionale o internazionale.
Durante gli incontri, le aziende partecipanti presentano la propria attività, e illustrano diverse opportunità di collaborazione, quali offerte lavoro, stage di tirocinio per le lauree triennali e tesi di laurea. Ciascun evento include una tavola rotonda dedicata a tematiche di attualità nel campo dell'informatica, durante la quale le aziende possono condividere esperienze e progetti, stimolando un confronto su argomenti di interesse formativo e professionale sia con studentesse e studenti che con i docenti.

La giornata prevede anche la realizzazione di speed-date, ovvero brevi colloqui individuali tra rappresentanti aziendali e partecipanti prenotati. Tali momenti costituiscono un'importante occasione di contatto diretto, durante la quale le aziende possono conoscere potenziali candidati e raccogliere i relativi curricula. Ogni edizione ospita mediamente circa cinquanta incontri individuali.
