ADVANCED PREHISTORIC ECOLOGY IA

Course objectives

In consistency with the educational purposes of the whole teaching course, aim of the teaching unit is to give students knowledge and comprehension skills in the field of ADVANCED PREHISTORY ECOLOGY IA, that complete and/or reinforce those acquired in the first grade of studies. Moreover, it will make the students able to approach orginal themes in a research context, making more complex judgments, communicating knowledge and its process, and studying the subject in an independent and self-educational way. The aim of this course is to develop a skilled knowledge of research questions and methodologies in the study past human-environment interactions, including subsistence and subsistence change, by using case studies from Italy, Europe and Mediterranean basin. Students will be prepared to collect and analyse data using appropriate methods, to develop critical analysis of arguments, to improve written and oral skills and to report scientific results to publication standards.

The final exam involves the preparation of a paper (simulation of an article or scientific project). Non-attending students are required to agree on the topic and specific bibliography in advance.
