ACCADIC LANGUAGE I

Course objectives

In consistency with the educational purposes of the whole teaching course, aim of the teaching unit is to give students knowledge and comprehension skills in the field of ACCADICO I, that complete and/or reinforce those acquired in the first grade of studies. Moreover, it will make the students able to approach orginal themes in a research context, making more complex judgments, communicating knowledge and its process, and studying the subject in an independent and self-educational way. The course aims to provide an overview of the Akkadian literature.

Course program
The course is structured through the reading of a series of texts. This year's course will address: - the Enuma elismh or Poem of Creation, - the Letters of Mari, - the Royal Ritual of Ebla.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Akkadian.
Books
All the material for the course (PPT/PDF of the lessons, exercises, notes, etc.) is available on eLearning (elearning.uniroma1.it) in the page of the course "lingua accadica".
Frequency
Class attendance is not compulsory, but highly recommended. A Meet link will be available as well.
Exam mode
The examinee will be assessed by reading, translating and analysing a text read in class.
