Course program
The course aims at illustrating the evolutionary trajectory of contemporary Spanish poetry. From the poetry of the resistance, born in the Franco era, to the Novísimos, from the lively debate of the transition to the most recent trends, the course offers a picture of the generational groups, ideas and aesthetic currents that form the canon of contemporary Spanish poetry. To consolidate the rhetorical-linguistic and critical-interpretative analysis tools of the literary text, it proposes an anthology of poetic texts belonging to some of the major Spanish poets (Dámaso Alonso, Gabriel Celaya, Blas de Otero, José Hierro, Pablo García Baena, Ricardo Molina, Jaime Gil de Biedma, Ángel González, María Victoria Atencia, Guillermo Carnero, Antonio Colinas, Clara Janés, Luis García Montero, José Antonio González Iglesias, Aurora Luque), from the post-war period to the present day.
Prerequisites
The student has to be able to critically analyse a literary text. He should have good competence in the Spanish language and master the principles of text analysis. He also has to demonstrate a good argumentative ability and be able to contextualize and analyse cultural phenomena.
