Course program
The course is divided into two parts
The first part aims to provide the student with the general knowledge for a correct approach to the surgical patient. This knowledge concerns the collection of anamnestic data, the correct execution of the physical examination in the various anatomical districts, the recognition and interpretation of the signs and symptoms and the description of the main surgical syndromic pictures.
This part therefore includes teaching the physical examination, semeiological maneuvers, the search for painful points as well as the study of commonly used laboratory tests and the main instrumental examinations. Subsequently, the main syndromes of surgical interest will be addressed, such as jaundice, intestinal obstruction, acute abdomen and peritonitis.
The second, special, is aimed at the semeiological classification of the main pathologies of surgical interest for single organs and systems. For each of these will be treated: recalls of surgical anatomy and physio-pathology, outline of epidemiology, signs and symptoms, physical examination, diagnostic process, laboratory tests and the main instrumental tests essential for diagnosis.

Prerequisites
According to the study plan.
Preliminary exams: General pathology and physiopathology. It is fundamental the knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology

Lesson mode
The course includes a part of lectures and a part of internship.
The lectures are carried out with the help of explanatory presentations, accompanied by iconography and radiological images. Practical training will be performed through attendance in surgical wards and clinics
