Course program
Urology is a branch of medicine characterized by the presence of high frequency oncological pathologies in the population (prostate, bladder and kidney cancer in particular), equally high frequency functional and metabolic pathologies (urinary tract stones, prostatic hyperplasia, incontinence urinary). These aspects underline the relevance of the training and the course for a future medical graduate, regardless of the specialization chosen. Urology is also both a surgical and medical branch. As a surgery it uses modern minimally invasive techniques, enormously limiting the use of traditional surgery to the advantage of endoscopy, laparoscopy and robotics. As a medical part, it leads to the use of oncological therapeutic schemes and hormonal action. The program of our course requires the achievement of a knowledge of the different pathologies of urological interest, analyzed from the pathophysiological and etiopathogenetic bases, but above all framed in the decision-making algorithms for first and second level diagnostics and the different medical and surgical therapeutic options In particular: Program of Urology Elements of Anatomia urogenital Inflammatory diseases of the bladder Cervico-urethral obstruction Benign prostatic hypertrophy Hydrocele Varicocele Spermatic cord torsion Orchitis and epididimite Urolithiasis Superficial bladder cancer. Bladder cancer. Cystectomy and reconstruction techniques (outline) Tumor of the kidney. Nephrectomy (notes). Prostate cancer. Prostatectomy (notes). Testicular cancer. Orchietomy (notes).urinary incontinence (stress and urge). Urological emergency. Bladder cathetherism. Role of phisiotherapy in urological diseases and in the post-surgical patient
