Course program
Introduction to Nursing: professional profile, ethical code, and educational pathway. Specific features and characteristics of the different healthcare settings in which the Radiologic Technologist collaborates with nurses. General and operational principles of patient care and therapy management. General guidelines for assisting patients with central and peripheral venous access. General guidelines for assisting patients with drainage systems, enteral nutrition, complex dressings, immobilization systems, and external fixators. The emergency trolley: general criteria for use and management; essential components (categories of drugs, devices for airway, respiratory, and circulatory support). Monitoring of vital functions: level of consciousness, respiration, cardiac activity, urine output, body temperature, and blood pressure. Respiratory function: definition, basic physiology, dynamic assessment, respiratory rate, and SpO₂. Cardiac function: definition, basic physiology, assessment of circulation (heart rate, ECG tracing, blood pressure). Overview of main biomedical devices and general principles of assistance: multiparameter monitor, pulse oximeter, sphygmomanometer, manual and semi-automatic defibrillator, infusion pumps. Classroom practice: measurement of vital signs, demonstration of peripheral vein cannulation, observation of medical devices.
