Pursuant to Interministerial Decree no. 654 of 5 July 2022, the discussion of the dissertation is preceded by the practical assessment test (PPV) of professional skills ‘aimed at ascertaining the candidate's ability to reflect critically on the overall traineeship experience and the activities performed, also in the light of aspects of legislation and professional ethics, demonstrating that he/she is able to adopt a professional approach based on theoretical models and evidence’. The PPV takes place in a single session, is oral and is passed with a pass mark, which allows access to the final discussion of the thesis.
The thesis, carried out under the supervision of a course lecturer, will set out in the form of an original scientific account an empirical research study, or a review of the scientific literature, or a critical discussion of a clinical experience carried out in professional contexts relevant to the educational objectives of the course. The personal commitment to writing the thesis - which must prove the theoretical and methodological skills acquired by the candidate in the course of the training activities - will be commensurate with the training credits allocated to this final work.
