Course objectives

Main objectives: The course aims to study sectorial English language of Physics and Astrophysics, through the reading and listening of text/audio in their original language, alongside the study of the main morphosyntacticstructures of English language in order to improve oral and written comprehension skills.It is required a B1 English Level according to the Common European Framework for foreign languages. At the end of the course students should be able to use major English grammatical structures, have a competent knowledge of English language and vocabulary used in specific scientific contexts, read and listen specific scientific materials and be able to analyse them in detail. Specific objectives: A.Knowledge and understanding-Sectorial English language of Physics and Astrophysicsknowledge -Ability to understand specific terms andexpression and Englishgrammarwithin texts. -Oral and writtencomprehensionskills B.Applying knowledge andunderstanding -Ability touse the main morphosyntacticstructures of English languageand specific vocabulary. C.Making judgements -Acquire the ability to express an opinion about the issues addressed duringlessonsthrough the use of the main major English grammatical structuresand specific vocabulary. D.Communication skills -Oral and written communication skills E.Learning skills -Learn the specific scientific vocabulary -Identify the most relevant topics addressed duringlessons.
