PRINCIPLES OF PUBLC LAW
Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to provide the student with an adequate mastery of the main methodological tools necessary for the understanding and analysis, even critical, of the evolution of the form of state and government in Italy. These skills will be achieved through the attendance of the course divided into lectures, exercises and seminars aimed at addressing the following issues: form of state and government, constitutional bodies, territorial autonomy, judicial system, rights and freedoms.

To prepare for the exam, consultation of the Constitution and the fundamental laws of public law is necessary. To this end, we recommend the volume published by Giuffrè, Fundamental Laws of Public and Constitutional Law, latest edition.
Frequency
Attendance is not compulsory. However, students intending to take the mid-term examination (exemption) are required to attend at least 75% of the course.
Exam mode
Oral test: the exam consists of an oral test of about half an hour during which students will be asked questions about the different parts of the program.
Intermediate exam: for only attending students it is possible (but not mandatory) to undertake an intermediate exam (written exemption test) that will take place during the lessons on the date that will be announced on the teacher's page. The one-hour trial consists of three open-ended questions on the part of the program relating to: legal order, state, forms of state and forms of government, events of the Italian state, sources of law.
The student who has successfully passed the test will be relieved of the oral examination of the subjects under investigation. The student who does not pass the test of the exemption or who chooses not to take it the student who chooses not to take it or who is not satisfied with the grade obtained will be examined, during the oral test, on the entire program.
Lesson mode
The teaching mainly develops through frontal lectures, in case also on-line within the limits prescribed, during which the main topics covered by the oral exam and / or the intermediate exam will be discussed. The teaching activities will also be articulated through some classroom exercises aimed at facilitating the students in addressing the intermediate exam. Finally, some seminars are planned on specific topics covered by the course.
