Degree programme choice orientation
The SOrT (Integrated Orientation Service) is Sapienza’s central guidance service. It operates through a main office located in the main university campus and additional help desks within each Faculty. At SOrT, students can find detailed information about Faculties and degree programmes, as well as support in making informed academic choices. The central office, together with Faculty staff, coordinates orientation and tutoring initiatives and provides information on educational offerings and administrative procedures for admission.
Orientation initiatives and projects
1. “Porte Aperte alla Sapienza” (Open Days)
This annual event, held at the main campus, is the most important orientation initiative for prospective students. Over three days, participants can meet academic staff and current students, attend presentations on all Faculties in the Aula Magna, and receive detailed information about degree programmes.
The event is aimed at students interested in enrolling in Bachelor’s, single-cycle Master’s, and Master’s degree programmes, particularly final-year high school students. It offers an opportunity to explore Sapienza’s academic environment, facilities, and student services (libraries, study spaces, museums, residences, sports facilities, and theatre).
Participants can also obtain guidance on administrative procedures, enrolment processes, and admission tests.
Special attention is given to inclusivity: the Office for Students with Disabilities and Specific Learning Disorders (DSA) provides tailored support, including personalized study plans and information on available academic, financial, and logistical assistance.
2. Sapienza Orientation Portal
Sapienza provides an online orientation platform:

The portal offers an immersive preview of university life, allowing users to virtually explore campus facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and cultural spaces. It also provides online learning modules on key academic subjects and tools to help students prepare for admission tests.
Additionally, the portal serves as a central hub for orientation events organized by Faculties and Departments and hosts presentation videos of degree programmes, including newly established ones.
3. Self-assessment tools
Developed by Sapienza experts and scientifically validated, these tools support students in their decision-making process:
“Know Yourself”: provides insights into personal, academic, and professional profiles.
“Me, Myself and Others”: evaluates soft skills relevant for academic and professional success.

Support for students with disabilities and specific learning disorders (DSA)
Sapienza provides dedicated support throughout the orientation and admission process. The Office for Students with Disabilities and DSA assesses individual needs and defines appropriate measures for entrance exams, such as additional time, dedicated rooms, assistive tutors, interpreters, or other support tools.
The office also ensures ongoing assistance during university life through specialized tutors, peer tutors, and accessibility services.
Programme Activities
The Master’s Degree Programme uses internationalization funds to recruit, on an annual basis, a staff member dedicated to supporting the selection, reception, integration, communication, and promotion of academic activities for international students enrolled in the Transport Systems Engineering programme.
