Curriculum

Elnaz Behnam Kia s a Contract Lecturer in Environmental Design for the Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture at the Department of Architecture and Design, Faculty of Architecture, Sapienza University of Rome. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Design from the Department of Planning, Design, and Technology of Architecture (PDTA) at the same university, and has completed two Postdoctoral Fellowships in Technological and Environmental Design of Architecture.
Her academic and research focus spans the fields of architecture technology, urban design, and conservation, with an emphasis on the sustainable transformation and energy efficiency of the built environment across various scales—from urban districts and neighbourhood open spaces to individual buildings. Her main research interest is in understanding the mechanisms that enable the applicability of climate action plans at the neighbourhood scale, while accelerating the net-zero transition. She is currently conducting a research project on Transforming Social Housing Neighbourhoods into Energy Communities, exploring its challenges and opportunities.
