Theories and Techniques of Social Theatre A.Y. 2025/2026
In addition to fostering reflection on the academic studies and theoretical issues related to the general subject, this course aims to provide students with the core competencies of a theatre practitioner working within social contexts.
A specific monographic section will be dedicated to theatre in prisons. Regarding methodology, the course will host guest directors and theatre practitioners who lead workshops; in addition to presenting their work, they will demonstrate examples of practical exercises.
Furthermore, the course will address the ethical challenges of theatrical work in marginalized or distressed environments through first-hand accounts from practitioners and participants. Lessons will incorporate both published and unpublished textual and audiovisual materials. Educational field trips may also be organized.
