Corso di Laurea in Design

a.a. 2023 – 2024 - secondo anno, secondo semestre

Le lezioni inizieranno il giorno Martedì 5 marzo 2024 alle ore 9:00 (aula F5, sede di via Flaminia) e proseguiranno secondo l'orario pubblicato.

Il Laboratorio ha obbligo di frequenza. 

Saranno iscritti come frequentanti solo gli studenti presenti alla prima lezione o al massimo alla seconda lezione. Non sono invece ammesse iscrizioni comunicate per mail.

Il programma, così come tutto il materiale didattico, sarà presentato nel corso della prima lezione e sarà disponibile per gli studenti frequentanti attraverso la piattaforma Google Classroom dedicata.

Ogni ulteriore informazione sarà fornita solo durante le lezioni e non via e-mail.

 

Advanced Design Studio

Master of Science in Product and Service Design

a.a. 2023 – 2024 - first year, second semester

The lessons start on Wednesday 6th of March 2024 at 9:00AM (classroom F7, via Flaminia).

The attendance at this Design Studio is compulsorary. The attendance is allowed only from the first or at the least from second lesson. Who starts to attend from the third lesson cannot to be accepted.

The syllabus and the didactic materials will be provided to the attending students by the dedicated Google Classroom platform.

Any other info can be required during the lessons and not by email.

FURTHER LEARNING WORK AND TRAINING (12CFU) aims to allow the student to support the knowledge learned within the didactic program with experiences within advanced production and research realities, at national or international level, also for a future entry into the world of work .

Product and Service Design

The ADVANCED DESIGN STUDIO aims to transfer the critical tools to investigate the different methodologies that pertain to the field of Product and Service Design in order to develop a new product/service concept considering the cultural interaction between users and objects starting from the needs of contemporary society . The skills and knowledge involved are transversal and heterogeneous and find their synthesis point in the field of Systemic Design. Operationally, the Course intends to produce an experimental working hypothesis which aims at the design and management of a new product starting from the analysts of the cultural and social contexts from time to time taken as a reference in the single design experience. The didactic phases and the related technical/experimental contributions are divided into: - socio-cultural analysis of contemporary design; - development of a product/service innovation hypothesis designed for a specific area of consumption; - study and application of the most appropriate tools for representing the developed product/service. The course is divided into lectures, seminars and experiments, prepared in relation to the various topics of a theoretical, methodological, technical and operational nature.

Two modules contribute to Course: DESIGN THINKING (6CFU - ICAR/13) dedicated to transferring methodological knowledge and skills in the field of Design Thinking; DESIGN PROTOTYPES (3CFU - ICAR/13) dedicated to developing specific skills in the field of physical and virtual modeling and prototyping as a design tool.

Fashion studies - Scienze della moda

"Fashion Design" is a design-based course where students are involved in a reserach and design work informed by the methodological approach of Strategic Design. 
The course aims to dig into the contemporary scenario of the Fashion Sector in order to investigate new products, process and consumption habits focusing on design of a new product and business model.
For these purposes, the structure of the course will be dived into theoretical lessons, to set the general and specific frames of the scenario, and in design tasks, to investigate the production possibilities, the consumption trends and to build a new fashion concept.

Il ricevimento per il primo semestre, a.a. 2023-24, è il martedì ore 12:30-13.30 in modalità on-line. Per partecipare inviare entro le ore 12:00 del giorno precedente una richiesta all'indirizzo mail del docente.
During the first semester of the a.y. 2023-24, each Tuesday from 12:30AM to 1:30PM, the professor is available to meet students. The meetings will be in o-line mode. To attend send an e-mail within the 12:00AM of the day before.

Professore Ordinario di Design, è: Vice Preside della Facoltà di Architettura; Presidente della Laurea Magistrale Internazionale in Product and Service Design; Responsabile Scientifico del Laboratorio di Ricerca Sapienza Design Factory che si occupa di sperimentazione, prototipazione e ingegnerizzazione di nuovi prodotti e servizi nel campo del Design per la Fabbricazione Digitale; membro del Comitato Direttivo del Centro Interdipartimentale Sapienza Design Research dove convergono competenze di Design, ingegneria Industriale e informatica, Rappresentazione Multimediale, Psicologia, Marketing, Comunicazione; - membro del Collegio del Dottorato di Ricerca in Pianificazione, Design, Tecnologia dell Architettura.
Inoltre è: - Co-Editor della rivista scientifica Design Principles and Practices edita da Common Ground Publishing; - Co-coordinatore del Working Group Design for Health-gcare and Wellbeing di Cumulus Association; membro della Commissione "Tassonomie della Ricerca" della Società Scientifica Italiana del Design (SID); Membro dell'Advisory Board della European Accademy of Design.
Svolge didattica e ricerca nel campo del Design del Prodotto e del Design Strategico con un attenzione ai temi del Service e Social Innovation, della User Experience, della Digital Fabrication sperimentando in settori ad alta complessità funzionale e di usabilità, come il medicale.
