At the end of the course, the student will have knowledge about:
a. The role of banks and markets within the financial system
b. The balance sheets of the banks
c. The banking operations underlying the interest margin and the brokerage margin
d. The rules of Basel 3
e. Supervision and prudential regulation
f. Banking corporate governance
The student will be able to analyze a bank of systemic importance at a global level and collect the necessary documentation from available public sources (company sites, Supervisory Authority site, stock exchange site, specialized company sites, etc.).
The student will be able to apply the concepts learned to evaluate the bank, its possible growth path, the ideal combination of funding sources and identify possible deviations from best practices and possible risk areas.
The student will have learned the basic mechanisms of the functioning of the financial system and the banking system, the risks of banks and prudential regulation.
The student will acquire the ability to make a public presentation of a work related to the positioning of one of systemic importance on a global level.
