1990: degree in “Aeronautical Engineering”, University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
1994: Ph.D. in "Environmental Engineering", University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
1996-1998: post-doc in "Environmental Engineering", University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

CAREER/EMPLOYMENT
2020-present: Associate Professor (Hydraulics) at the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Edile e Ambientale (DICEA) of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
2000-2020: Researcher (Hydraulics) at DICEA.
2018-2024- National Academic Qualification as Full Professor/Area 08 – Hydraulics-Hydrology.

TEACHING ACTIVITY
Teaching involves master courses in Environmental Engineering (Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Environmental and Maritime Hydraulics, Urban Climatology), Master Degree and Ph.D. thesis supervision. Member of the Academic Board of the Ph.D. in Environmental and Hydraulics Engineering.

MAIN RESEARCH INTERESTS
Lagrangian stochastic models of particle dispersion in ocean and atmosphere • Sea and land breeze regimes • Urban heat islands • Gravity flows • Turbulent mixing in stably stratified flows • Flow and pollutant dispersion in urban canopies. This activity is documented by 50 papers published on peer-reviewed journals and by other publications and talks. He has collaborated with several research institutions and Italian and foreign universities (e.g. ISAC, ENEA, INGV, MetOffice, NCAR, Arizona State University, University of Utah, University of Lyon, Eindhoven University of Technology, University of Notre Dame, Polytechnic University of Catalunya; University of Los Angeles).

MAIN RESEARCH GRANTS
2020 Principal investigator of the Research project "Integrated study of workers' exposure to atmospheric particulates in indoor environments: numerical-experimental simulation of fluid dynamic and concentration fields, in real and laboratory scale; chemical, morphological and toxicological characterization of fine and ultrafine particulates” (Funds: Ministry of Health, € 740,000).
2017 (Local) Principal investigator of the project "Numerical and experimental study of the transfer of atmospheric particulate matter (PM) within indoor environment" (Funds: Ministry of Health, € 220,000).
2011 Principal investigator of the Research Project “Analysis of the Energetic Potential associated to the
wave motion of the Mediterranean Sea”, concluded between DICEA and the National Agency for New Technologies" (ENEA). Fund: 40,000 Euro.
2006 (Local) Principal investigator of the PRIN project titled "Hyperspectral analysis of sand bars
dynamics in lagoons" (Fund: 40,000 €).
He has been principal investigator of (or has taken part to) many other national and international research projects regarding environmental fluid mechanics and hydraulics.
