Research interests:
i) molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration (oxidative stress, autophagy, proteasome system, apoptosis) in mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer disease, Down Syndrome. Human post-mortem brain samples, cell cultures and animal models of the diseases.
ii) molecular and cellular mechanisms of HPV cell transformation and role of oxidative stress in neoplastic progression of HPV transformed cells. Role of UV irradiation in carcinogenesis
