Curriculum

Fabio Di Felice got a master’s degree in Aeronautics and a Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics at Rome University.
He worked at CIRA (Italian Aerospace Research Center) involved in wind tunnel design, wind tunnel testing, and experimental techniques in aerodynamics where from 1993 to 1995 he was manager of the Advanced Measurement Group.
In 1996 he joined INSEAN as Researcher in Advanced measurement techniques, Propulsion, and Cavitation involved in many EU projects and in the management of the Large Circulating Water Channel.
From 2003 to 2011 was the Director of Propulsion and Cavitation Labs at INSEAN.
From 2010 to 2017 was Manager of the Cavitation Facilities at CNR-INSEAN.
Since 2010 has the position of Research Director at CNR-INM.
Member of the 23rd ITTC Conference Specialist Committee on Cavitation Induced Pressure Fluctuation and of the 25th ITTC Conference Specialist Committee on Wakefield.
From 2017 to 2020 was Chairman of the ITTC Association.
Since 2014 is adjunct professor of Ocean Energy at Rome University La Sapienza, Dept. of Energy Engineering.
Authors of about 200 papers in international journals and conferences.
Research interests are:
• Renewable Energy devices, ship hydrodynamics, propulsion, multiphase flows, cavitation, ventilation, wake flows, vortex dynamics
• Development of experimental measurement techniques: Velocimetry methods (LDV, 2D/3D PIV, time-resolved PIV, underwater PIV, boroscope PIV, LI, shadowgraphic techniques )
