I receive by appointment for one-on-one advising and academic support.

Curriculum

I am an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science department of the Sapienza University of Rome since 2022. My postdoctoral experience includes appointments at Virginia Tech and the GESIS—Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, where I took on the role of Team Leader for Data Science Methods. In 2016, I was a visiting student at Georgia Tech. I received my PhD in CSE from the University of Padua, where I studied how nonverbal communication shapes online discussions.

I study fringe behaviors online, such as misinformation and trolling, as well as the practices around regulating them, such as moderation and platform policies. My work received academic recognition at top social computing venues, such as AAAI ICWSM (Best Paper 2022) and ACM CSCW (Best Paper Honorable Mention 2021 and 2020), and was covered by mainstream press (WIRED, El País, FOX news).
