Curriculum
Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering (1996). Since 1996 assistant professor (ricercatore) at the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications of “La Sapienza” University of Rome, Italy.
Research Interests: Remote sensing data processing and interpretation, objects and features detection, learning systems, sensors for remote sensing, embedded systems.
He obtained and published results in cellular neural network theory and applications, artificial vision, robotics, remote sensing applications in forestry, hyperspectral data processing, environmental modelling, archaeology and infrastructures, biomedical signal processing and interpretation, antipersonnel mine detection, circuits for piezoelectromechanical structures.
Publications: over 120 international peer-reviewed publications. Among them 34 in journals, 3 book chapters, 3 patents. H-index 15.
Projects: scientific coordinator of units in the following projects:
- ESA Contract 6392 (feasibility project) and 4000108171/13/NL/US SAFEDEM (demonstration project) Space assets for enhanced demining (2011-2014)

Teaching: he teaches a Laboratory Course in Digital Electronics. He taught Electronic Circuit Theory (synthesis of passive analog circuits, in particular filters), Embedded Systems, and Radio-Frequency Electronics. He is a member of the board of the Ph.D. course in Electronic Engineering.
He is a member and co-founder of Oben, originally an academic spin-off company working on aerial survey services based on RPAS (drones) and embedded systems.
