Structural Engineering of Ancient and Modern Buildings 2021/2022
The main aim of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge and understanding of the mechanical behaviour of ancient and modern buildings.
Upon successful completion of the course the students will be able to
-
analyse a real building to check the safety and stability of bearing elements when subjected to internal and external loads;
-
suggest suitable retrofitting interventions that are effective from a structural point of view and that are in compliance with conservation principles.
IMPORTANT: CLASSES will start Tuesday 12th October
