Il programma fornisce anche strumenti per l'utilizzo delle conoscenze di base della petrografia al fine di costruire percorsi didattici basati su osservazioni in campo e in laboratorio sfruttando anche tecnologie digitali e innovative.

Curriculum
Analysis of petrological processes that control the evolution of magmas during polybaric/polythermal ascent and emplacement, fractional crystallization, assimilation of crustal lithologies, and mixing via multiple recharge events.
Mineral and glass compositions are examined at the laboratory scale to calibrate equilibrium models, major and trace element partitioning models, thermobarometers, hygrometers and geospeedometers.
Crystal growth kinetics are also investigated to identify the physical and chemical perturbations of magmatic reservoirs as well as to quantify the timescale of crystallization process.
