Research field
Dr.Cacci research is mainly focused on studying: 1) the contribution of specific
extrinsic and intrinsic factors controlling neural stem cell (NSCs) properties 2) the
effects of neuroinflammation, mainly mediated by microglia and astrocytes, on
neural stem cells (NSCs) maintenance, differentiation and neuronal survival 3)
the properties of NSCs and their neurogenic potential in the brain of adult mice
under pathological conditions (e.g. autism spectrum disorders) and during aging.
