RESEARCH TOPICS / EXPERIENCES
More than 35 year experience on:
- Experimental Fluid Mechanics by using advance optical techniques as Particle Image Velocimetry, Laser Induced Fluorescence, Laser Doppler Anemometry, Global Phase Doppler
- Investigations on performances and flow fields around wind turbine with vertical axis and marine turbines
- Two phase flows and sprays
- Continuous and pulsating jet study and control with particular reference to effects due to Reynolds number, initial and boundary condition and mixing in the near field
- Investigation son jet-wall interactions with reference to river and coastal weirs and barriers
- Small-scale turbulence, dissipation and isotropy
- Microfluidics with applications to energy engineering as in fuel cells and micromixers
- Wing and car model wakes investigations in wind tunnel together with aerodynamic force determination
- Turbulent boundary layers on smooth and rough walls
- Fluid-mechanics application to biomedical devices as heart valves, pumps and ventilation for surgery applications
