FEDERICO MARCOLINI

Federico Marcolini (Member, IEEE) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy, in 2016, 2018, and 2022, respectively. From 2022 to 2023, he was a Research Associate with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome, where he has been a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor since December 2023. In 2020, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Department of Mechatronics, MCI Management Center Innsbruck, Austria, and in 2025 a Visiting Researcher with the School of Engineering, Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K. His main research interests include the analysis and design of permanent magnet machines and of wide-bandgap-semiconductor-based power converters. He is a Member of the IEEE Industry Applications and the IEEE Power Electronics Societies, as well as of the IAS Electric Machines Committee. He was acknowledged as a Star Reviewer for the IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion in 2025.
