DAVIDE ASTIASO GARCIA

Davide Astiaso Garcia è Professore Ordinario di energetica presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Astronautica Elettrica ed Energetica della Sapienza Università di Roma e Segretario Generale dell’ANEV – Associazione Nazionale Energia del Vento.
Gli ambiti di ricerca su cui lavora vertono sul tema della transizione energetica, con particolare riferimento all’utilizzo delle fonti di energia rinnovabile, all’elaborazione di scenari energetici per la decarbonizzazione di aree pilota a diversa scala (singolo edificio, aree urbane, aree remote, isole geografiche), considerando la disponibilità delle fonti locali, i sistemi di accumulo e la flessibilità della rete. Ha lavorato come Project Coordinator o responsabile scientifico per Sapienza in più di 15 progetti di ricerca nazionali o internazionali finanziati su bandi competitivi ed è esperto della Commissione Europea Research Executive Agency (REA) per la valutazione delle proposte di progetti di ricerca per le call Horizon Europe, nonché in numerose altre call nell’ambito di diversi programmi europei o nazionali.
Dal 2019 rientra nella classifica mondiale degli scienziati con il livello più elevato di produttività scientifica “ World's Top 2% Scientists List” sia per l'intera carriera accademica che per le pubblicazioni dell’ultimo anno, stilata dalla Stanford University.
Le sue attività di ricerca sulla transizione energetica delle isole minori sono state selezionate tra le 100 Italian Renewable Energy Stories del report promosso da Symbola – Fondazione per le qualità italiane ed ENEL, in collaborazione con KEY - The Energy Transition Expo, dedicato alle tecnologie sviluppate nel mondo delle rinnovabili.
Attualmente rientra nei Top Italian Scientist. Censimento nazionale degli scienziati e scholars di maggior impatto, misurato con il valore di h-index. Area della ricerca: Engineering - Energy.
È autore di più di 180 pubblicazioni scientifiche indicizzate su database Scopus sui temi di ricerca sopramenzionati (più di 6.000 citazioni e H index 46).

Davide Astiaso Garcia is Full Professor of Energy Systems at the Department of Astronautical, Electrical and Energy Engineering, Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, of Sapienza University of Rome. He is the Secretary General of the Italian Wind Energy Association (ANEV).
His full operating skills include, among others: Wind Energy, other renewable energies, smart energy systems, energy efficiency in buildings.
Astiaso Garcia has an extensive publication record, including more than 180 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals indexed in Scopus database. Astiaso Garcia’s publications have received over 6.000 citations in Scopus, where he has an H-index of 46. He has a body of funded research comprising over €2.5M in European research projects on competitive funds and he works as expert of the European Commission for the evaluation of Horizon Europe project proposals.
In particular, he has participated in more than 15 European and national research projects in the field of renewable energies and smart energy systems (in many cases as Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator).
Since 2019, he is included in the World's Top 2% Scientists List in the Energy field both for the whole carrier and for the last year publications according to the "Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators" Elsevier and SciTech Strategies (Stanford University).
His research activities on the energy transition of the smaller islands were selected among the 100 Italian Renewable Energy Stories of the report promoted by Symbola – Fondazione per le qualità italiane and ENEL, in collaboration with KEY - The Energy Transition Expo, dedicated to technologies developed in the world of renewables.
