Avvisi Generali/General Announcements

All subsequent communications will be announced only on the course page. To make communication easier, all the students who are planning to attend a (new) class - whether in person or remotely - are kindly invited to subscribe in advance to the corresponding course page, whose link is available in the list below. Access to Moodle Sapienza and Google Classroom is provided to every student via the very same institutional credentials (username@studenti.uniroma1.it/password) used to access Wi-Fi and Infostud services.

Curriculum

Daniele De Sensi is Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science,
Sapienza University of Rome (Italy), where he leads research on high-performance
computing and networking. His work focuses on the design and optimization of
large-scale computing systems, with particular emphasis on HPC interconnection
networks, collective communication algorithms, and in-network computing.
His research spans the full stack from network hardware and topology design
to distributed algorithms and programming abstractions, with the goal of
enabling efficient execution of data-intensive applications at scale.

Previously, Daniele was an ETH Postdoctoral Fellow at ETH Zurich (Switzerland),
where he conducted research on traffic control techniques for next-generation
HPC interconnects within the Scalable Parallel Computing Lab of Prof. Torsten
Hoefler, supported by a competitive individual ETH Fellowship. Prior to ETH,
he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Pisa, working on
autonomic and power-aware optimizations in structured parallel programming
environments. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of
Pisa, his Master's Degree in Computer Science and Networking
jointly from the University of Pisa and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna,
and his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa.

Daniele leads Sapienza's research unit in NET4EXA, a EuroHPC JU project
on next-generation EU-based HPC and data centre interconnects.
His work has been published at premier venues including SC, NSDI, USENIX ATC,
ACM KDD, Communications of the ACM, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, and
ACM Computing Surveys. He serves on the Program Committees of leading international
conferences including SC, USENIX OSDI, ACM ICS, IPDPS, HPDC, and ICPP.
