Course program
This course covers key subjects in clinical microbiology, genetics and biochemistry, focusing on their application to nursing care. Students will learn about significant microorganisms, the transmission of infections, the genetic basis of diseases and major metabolic pathways. The course will demonstrate how this scientific knowledge is applied in nursing practice, for example in infection prevention, patient care, treatment administration, and recognizing early signs of health problems. The aim is to provide students with a solid scientific foundation and demonstrate its relevance to practical nursing work.
Books
There are no required textbooks for this course. Students will be provided with the slides used during the ADE, along with a selection of scientific articles and relevant supplementary materials related to the topics covered, to support individual study and preparation for assessments
Teaching mode
The teacher delivers lectures with traditional or blended methods with power point presentation and scheduling of lessons as reported on GOMP Aure/Orari system, published on the website of CdS.

Exam mode
The attitudinal test will assess the student's ability to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during the ADE to simulated or described clinical situations. Critical thinking skills, the ability to recognise relevant clinical signs, make appropriate nursing care decisions and adhere to the ethical and professional principles of nursing will be taken into consideration.

Prerequisites
In order to understand the teaching content and to achieve the final objectives of the course, at the beginning of the didactic activities, the student should possess a useful knowledge in the biological/chemical field

Teaching mode
The teacher delivers seminars with remote modality with audiovisual aids and scheduling of lessons
Frequency
The student is required to attend educational activities. The frequency is checked by the teachers through updated lists provided by the Academic Office
Exam mode
For the examination of the exam, we suggest a theoretical deepening already from the beginning of the course attendance

Lesson mode
