Course program
General parasitology and cycles of the main parasites - Biological associations and parasitism - Notes on morphological, structural and metabolic characteristics of protozoa, helminths and arthropods - Parasite specificity - Temporary and permanent ectoparasites - Geographical distribution, life cycles and pathogenicity of the main parasites - Main parasites found in biological samples, with particular reference to opportunists of nosocomial interest - Modes of infection and transmission, also in relation to the infectivity of biological samples
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of biology and physiology of unicellular and multicellular organisms. Basic knowledge of cell and applied biology, microbiology, human anatomy and physiology, general and clinical pathology.
