FINAL EXAM

Course objectives

The student has 5 CFU for the preparation of the final examination. The college degree focuses on: - The preparation and discussion of a paper written on the topic for technical application, experimental or under the guidance of a teacher's Degree; - A practical test, in which the student must demonstrate the ability to handle a situation proposed action in terms of their profession. To determine the grade, expressed in one hundred and ten, contribute the following parameters: - The average of the marks obtained in the examinations curriculum, in teaching and in elective courses, expressed in one hundred and ten; - The points awarded by the Commission of Science thesis about the type and quality of presentation, duration of the degree course, the number of praises, LLP / Erasmus program; - The marks obtained in the practical test.

Course program
Orientation to the final exam: objectives, structure, and evaluation criteria. Selection of topic and supervisor. Methodology for bibliographic research and literature review. Structure and writing of the thesis (introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions). Data analysis and presentation. Preparation for oral defense (presentation skills, scientific communication, Q&A management). Ethical and professional aspects of research and scientific reporting.
Prerequisites
Completion of the professional internship. Adequate knowledge of research methodology, statistics, and bioethics. Successful completion of all required courses in the study plan.
Books
Textbooks on biomedical research methodology and statistics. International peer-reviewed journals in biomedical sciences. Guidelines from the Ministry of Health and relevant scientific societies.
Frequency
Attendance to preparation and tutoring activities is mandatory. Timely submission of drafts and participation in review sessions are required.
Exam mode
Written thesis (evaluation of content, methodology, and originality). Oral defense before an academic committee. Overall evaluation based on:
 scientific quality and clarity of presentation; student’s autonomy and critical thinking; overall academic and internship performance.
Lesson mode
Individual tutoring with the thesis supervisor. Seminars on research methodology and scientific writing. Progress review meetings. Simulated oral defense sessions.
