Prerequisites
To access the final professionalizing laboratories, the student must possess adequate theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the academic program and demonstrate technical and scientific competencies consistent with the profile of the Biomedical Laboratory Technician.
The student must have successfully completed the professional internships of the first, second, and third year of the course, thereby gaining direct experience in the main areas of biomedical laboratory practice (clinical pathology, microbiology, transfusion medicine, and anatomical pathology).
In particular, the student should have acquired:
- Fundamental knowledge of biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and general pathology.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety and management of biological and chemical risks.
- Operational skills in laboratory procedures, handling of biological samples, and use of diagnostic instrumentation.
- Ability to comply with standard operating procedures and with quality and traceability standards in analytical processes.
