Course program
Approach to the design of advanced technical devices for neurological and amputation-related conditions; Pathological conditions of neurological patients; Pathological conditions of amputees; Advanced technical devices for the treatment of neurological and amputee patients: Active exoskeletal systems for the lower limb; Active prosthetic systems for the upper limb; CAD design principles for mechanics and electronics; Advanced control techniques; Traditional model production technologies; 3D scanning and printing technologies for model development.
Prerequisites
knowledge of the main diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
Books
Practical workshop in the orthopedic workshop.
Frequency
Attendance is mandatory for 100% of the professional workshop hours. Attendance is verified and documented on a specific form provided by the tutor.
Exam mode
The teaching assessment process is characterized by exams scheduled during scheduled sessions. The exam includes a practical application case, followed by a clarification of the assessment criteria. The assessment criteria include practical manual skills, subject knowledge, language skills, reasoning and logical articulation, and the ability to integrate skills in solving practical cases. At the end of the exam, the student will be deemed either suitable or inappropriate.
Lesson mode
Practical exercises in the orthopedic laboratory. Analysis, design, and manufacturing of the orthopedic devices discussed.
