Course program
- Modes of acquisition and transmission of infectious diseases: Transmission of SARS-CoV-2, HIV, HAV, HEV, HBV, HCV, main exanthematous diseases (chickenpox, measles, rubella), meningitis (pneumococcal and meningococcal); - Definition and description of "healthcare personnel" and types of facilities in which they operate; - Transmission containment measures in daily care. - Risk of exposure to infectious agents for healthcare personnel: general information; - Non-infectious risks for healthcare personnel (vertebral injuries, strains and sprains, latex allergy, stress, violence); - Percutaneous exposure to blood-borne pathogens (BBP) through accidental needlesticks (HIV, HBV, HCV); - Exposure to infectious agents through contact (direct or indirect), droplet or airborne, animal bite; - Recommended practices to minimize the risk of communicable diseases (staff training, vaccinations, assessment of exposed staff for possible PEP, adherence to standard precautions, isolation of infected patients, use of personal protective equipment). - Prevention of laboratory-acquired infections (bans, containment hoods, PPE); - Initial assessment and monitoring of healthcare workers by occupational health services; - Methods to demonstrate the immunity status of healthcare workers; - Recommended vaccinations for non-immune healthcare workers; contraindications to vaccinations. Immunosuppressed healthcare workers. Pregnant healthcare workers. - Restrictions for colonized, exposed or infected healthcare workers (hepatitis viruses, herpes viruses, HIV, Staphylococcus aureus).
