Course program
The course will cover the following main topics:
Approach to the surgical patient: preoperative evaluation and management of informed consent.
Major surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, etc.
Postoperative management: monitoring, pain management and complication prevention.
Emergency surgery: immediate approaches and trauma management.
Oncologic surgery: principles and major treatments.
Minimally invasive and robotic surgery: innovations and clinical applications.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
Skills in general pathology and pharmacology.
Ability to work in a team and follow clinical protocols.

Frequency
Attendance at theoretical and practical classes is mandatory. Students must attend at least 75% of the activities in order to take the final exam.
Exam mode
Student assessment will be based on:
Final written examination with multiple-choice and open-ended questions.
