Course program
1. Blood sampling (5 hours)  The main laboratory tests and their meaning  Venous, capillary and arterial sampling  Blood culture collection 2. Venous accesses devices and infusion venipuncture (5 hours)  Peripheric venous access: peripheric cannula, Midline  Central venous access: PICC, Central Venous Catheter, Port-a-cath  The vascular districts used, the routes and methods of infusion, the devices, the infusion rate, the nursing monitoring of the infusion, information for the patient, and complications. 3. Drugs administration and dosage (5 hours)  The 18 G rule  Practical exercises on drug dilutions  Administering infusion therapies  Blood transfusion 4. The hydro-electrolyte balance and Diagnostic Investigations (4.5 hours)  Principles of hydro-electrolytic balance  Bronchoscopy  Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)  Cardiac catheterization  Diagnostic imaging. Prerequisites
The knowledge about privacy, patient identification, data collection, physical examination, patient interview and infection prevention will be helpful but not essential for the teaching aims. The course will address the main aspects of these topics.

• Intermediate evaluations • Final evaluation: oral examination The intermediate and final evaluations will investigate the topics covered by the teaching. The final evaluation will consist of a oral evaluation.
Lesson mode
The course includes theoretical and practical lessons in frontal mode with slide projection. The presentation and discussion of clinical cases and tutorials will aim at the active participation of students.
