Homeostasis. Causes of diseases: radiation; high and low temperatures; electricity and chemicals. Pathology of bacterial and viral infections.
Genetic pathology. Hereditary transmission of pathological characters. Non-hereditary congenital pathology. Chromosomal abnormalities: molecular pathology of hereditary diseases. Types of inheritance.
Reversible and irreversible damage. Cellular response to damage. Morphology of cell damage. Cell adaptation. Atrophy. Hypertrophy. Hyperplasia. Metaplasia. Dysplasia. Necrosis and apoptosis. Cell degeneration. accumulation mechanisms.
Stages of the inflammatory process. Acute and chronic inflammation. Cells involved in inflammatory processes. Chemical mediators of inflammation. Healing mechanisms.
