Viruses: structure and composition of the viral particle; stages of the replication cycle, assembly, and release.
Infections: exogenous and endogenous infections, sources, and routes of transmission.
Antimicrobial agents: antibiotics, mechanisms of action, and susceptibility testing.
Vaccines and principles of immunoprophylaxis.
Control of microorganisms: disinfection and sterilization methods.
Infectious agents and main related clinical conditions.
