Course objectives
Electing Teaching Activity (according to student's choice) Students will examine topics of specific interest to become more competent in their field of study. They can acquire these loans (maximum 6)with monographic courses, seminars and congresses or meetings, also organized by the Course itself or by the Faculty.

Exercise Physiology.
• Bioenergetics: aerobic metabolism, anaerobic lactacid and a-lactacid metabolism.
• Cardio-circulatory, respiratory and metabolic adjustments and adaptations to physical exercise.
Components of Physical Fitness (maximum aerobic power, anaerobic capacity and power, strength and muscular endurance, flexibility, body composition).
Functional Evaluation of Fitness.
Functional age related decay.
Exercise as prevention and therapy in elderly people.
Neurological and physiatric classifications of the lesion levels of different disorders (spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy).
The Paralympic athletes.
Prerequisites
Cardiovascular physiology. Physio-pathology of movement.

The student is provided on the specific topics with material in the form of scientific papers and handouts produced by the teacher and documents produced by specific scientific societies and by national and international sports organizations.

In order to take the exam, it is essential to attend at least 75% of the lesson hours of each module.

The teacher presents the topic of the lesson with slides designed according to a logical scheme that favors the provision of notions in a preparatory way.
During the presentation, the teacher questions the learners on topics of the single slide in order to review concepts of anatomy, physiology or pathophysiology of the nervous system that are considered acquired in previous teachings.
