Course objectives

At the end of the third year, the student will be able to: • Identify and plan for total nursing care in relation to the needs and problems identified in the various fields of medicine and surgery and specialist surgery and emergency medicine, in order to formulate a differential diagnosis of the clinical picture and be able to deal with the emergency medical and surgical treatment. • Manage the critically ill patient in the ICU and in-hospital environment. The student acquires ability to manage nursing problems in maternal-child and psychiatric areas. The student also acquires organizational and management skills of simple operating units

• Care Plan for the patient suffering from myocardial infarction • Care Plan to the patient with intracranial hypertension • Care Plan for the patient suffering from pancreatitis • Plan of care to the patient with severe burns • Care Plan for the patient suffering from hypovolemic shock • Plan of care to patients with fractures of the femur • Plan of care to the patient undergoing cardiac surgery • Plan of care to the patient undergoing mechanical ventilation • Care Plan to the child with congenital heart disease. • Plan assistance to the patient underwent hysterectomy • Plan assistance to the patient underwent mastectomy • Plan assistance to the patient underwent cesarean section. At the end of the third year, the student , also, will have acquired knowledge and skills related to: • Infusions: fundamentals of infusion therapy; solutions for infusions; flow regulator, infusion pump; infusion technique; preparation of the infusion; infusion of short duration; infusion to stay, central catheter. • Measurement of P.V.C.: theoretical foundations; principle of measurement; necessary material and fine-tuning of the measurement system. • Endotracheal intubation assistance and management of endotracheal intubation; • Tracheostomy and tracheostomy care; • cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Frequency
In order to take the relative exam, it is necessary that the presence in the internship for 100% of the hours foreseen in the teaching system has been documented (with a positive evaluation)
Exam mode
To pass the exam you must achieve a grade of not less than 18/30, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the fundamental topics, a basic knowledge of the general topics and, during the interview, to be able to expose them in a clear way and with language properties To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to link them in a logical and consistent way.
