THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING

Course objectives

At the end of the course the student must know the notions of clinical periodontology, analyzing the different therapeutic methods, with particular attention to the techniques of professional hygiene and their influence on the course and prognosis of treatment, interactions between periodontium and systemic diseases and ai specific protocols for particular needs in patients with vulnerabilities health.It also provides basic knowledge on the importance of nutrition for general health and oral cavity. At the end of the course the student must be able to distinguish interactions between periodonti and systemic diseases and apply specific occupational hygiene protocols. In addition, the student must know how to apply anti-tobacco counseling techniques (short intervention), patient motivation techniques to home hygiene, periodic professional checks and a rational diet aimed at protecting oral health.

Periodontal and Root Anatomy 2017 Classification and Framework of Periodontal Diseases Clinical Periodontal Indices The Importance of Mechanical Plaque Removal Particular attention to: Clinical periodontal indices in the evaluation of disease severity and in treatment planning, both in the active phase and during maintenance; Clinical and instrumental indicators of disease. Through the knowledge of the 2017 Classification of Periodontal Diseases, the student will arrive at the periodontal diagnostic assessment that their dentist will perform prior to treatment. By following a standardized pathway, the student will understand how extremely important this process is for the identification of the periodontal patient.
