FIRE PREVENTION DESIGN

Course objectives

Knowledge and understanding At the end of the course, the student must have acquired knowledge and understanding, as well as skills that allow to support, from a theoretical-methodological and practical point of view, to be able to carry out a fire-fighting design in complete autonomy. The verification of knowledge will be carried out through ongoing tests and the exam itself. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate the mastery of an integrated experimental and analytical-design approach for the finalization of the acquired knowledge and understanding, to solve problems of a fire-fighting system and, on the technical standards that govern the matter. These capabilities will be verified in the context of experimental and design activities, through the creation of an application case. Judgment autonomy. At the end of the course, the student will have to demonstrate the ability to acquire knowledge and experience, to evaluate them and re-elaborate them for the purpose of forming an independent and original judgment. The achievement of such critical and autonomous judgment skills will be acquired during the project activities, through the specific application of the rules on an application case. Learning ability At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate a high autonomous learning ability concerning fire prevention design. The acquisition of these skills will take place through the specific theoretical contributions imparted by the teacher during the course, aimed at expanding the framework of skills. The verification of skills will take place, above all, through the exam, structured in such a way as to highlight the path taken to reach a high level of understanding of the legislation and ability to apply it to case studies

Progettazione Antincendio - Guida Operativa alle Procedure - DEI Tipografia del Genio Civile. Manuale degli Impianti Antincendio, Guida alla Progettazione - DEI Tipografia del Genio Civile. La Manutenzione Antincendio a regola d’Arte - Secondo Volume - EPC Editore.
Frequency
There is no requirement for attendance.
Exam mode
During the course there may be written tests on the program carried out up to the date of the above-mentioned tests; papers and exercises will be carried out. The examination will be preceded by verification of the paper assigned as part of the course (practical exercise in fire design), the completion of which is mandatory in order to take the examination. The examination consists of a written test, having passed it, one enters the oral test, if required by the Commission. The written test consists of about twenty open-ended and multiple-choice questions, which may include calculations to be performed and functional diagrams to be drawn. The written test is graded based on the number of correct answers and their content. The tests cover the topics of the course program.
