THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING
Course objectives
The NEW CRAFT AND INDUSTRY DESIGN STUDIO aims to investigate new types of product in relation to production and consumption opportunities with particular attention to both the aesthetic-cultural aspects and the technical-mechanical ones. At the end of the course the student, investigating an object or a component, will have to: - know the different phases that lead to the morphology articulating the functional and material requirements, as well as the production systems; - develop knowledge related to the mechanical analysis of two-dimensional structures in order to optimize the shape and dimensioning of the object; - manage the simulation of the design path of an object of use, integrating digital tools and techniques for graphic and structural modeling. Two modules contribute to this Course: DESIGN FOR NEW TYPOLOGIES (6CFU - ICAR/13) dedicated to developing approaches and design methods typical of Product Design which focus on the morphological dimension of artifacts. MECHANICAL TESTS MODELS AND PROTOTYPES (6CFU - ICAR/08) dedicated to transferring management skills of the basic problems of the mechanics of shapes.
