Course program
The course, which is included among the teachings in the final year, making use of the foundations already acquired by students in previous courses (particularly the courses in technical architecture, digital tools for building, architectural technology, history of architecture and construction technology), first and foremost guides them to the analysis and understanding of the historical building organism. The proposed methodology is that of re-design using an inductive-deductive procedure; it is a design line, therefore, that proceeds from the particular to the general and then descends again to the particular having identified the logic and rules that will govern the new arrangement of the building organism. The lectures are therefore directed to explore on the one hand the renovation project and the recovery process on the other the materials and techniques of the tradition, their degradation and rehabilitation interventions. The lectures are organized as follows: 0. "The course: topics, organization and examination papers" A1. "The historical knowledge of the building object." A2. "Referencing in an HBIM." A3. "Image-based survey and scan to BIM." A4. "Preservation and diagnostics in BIM." B1. "Structural types in architecture." B2. Reinforced concrete: The material and its structural types. C1-C2. Reinforced concrete: Typical degradations and Intervention techniques. B3. Steel: The material and its structural types C3-C4. Steel: Typical degradations and intervention techniques B4. Masonry: The material and its structural types. C5-C6. Masonry: Typical Degradations and Intervention Techniques.
