COMMERCIAL AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW
Course objectives
1) Knowledge and understanding: the course aims at providing the student with the knowledge and ability to understand the peculiarity of commercial law, in particular concerning civil law, through the study of its main institutes, particularly those relating to the enterprise – with a specific focus on the fundamental legal profiles functional to the distinction of the enterprise on the market and on the purpose, nature and limits of private rights – to the statute of the commercial entrepreneur, to the exercise of the enterprise in corporate form. 2) Applying knowledge and understanding: through an in-depth study of the individual institutes, including case studies, the course aims at providing the student with knowledge and ability to understand the topics taught, not limited to the theoretical approach of the questions, but such as to allow the understanding of the practical applications of the relevant concepts. 3) Making judgements: The course's objectives include encouraging students’ critical thinking and allowing students to acquire methodological tools necessary for research, also in preparation for a further independent study of commercial law, including consideration legal topics that have not been addressed. 4) Communication skills: the course aims to encourage active student participation in class session, in order to enable students to develop and perfect communication and expository skills technically appropriate for dealing with the institutions of commercial law. 5) Learning skills: the course aims to stimulate the student's curiosity towards the subject, requiring commitment and attention in the study of both general topics and detailed issues, in order to improve the student's learning ability facing complex texts and issues.
