Other training activities that award credits
The Master's Degree in Finance and Insurance includes seminars and laboratory activities as part of other training activities (AAF). These seminars are taught by professionals in specific fields, with the aim of creating a bridge between the Academy and the companies.
Credits for additional training activities are earned through passing a final exam, established case by case by each instructor and for each seminar or laboratory activity series.
Matlab Masterclass - First Level
The series of lectures will be taught by Matlab student ambassadors at Sapienza University.
The event is dedicated to the introduction of Matlab software and its use as an IT support for quantitative subjects.

Seminars: Aspects of Insurance Techniques
Dr. Claudio Raimondi (4CareItalia) hold a seminar series entitled "Social Insurance as a Fundamental Tool for the "Reconstruction" of a New Welfare System in Italy." The course aims to provide students with theoretical and practical training in the use of actuarial techniques for social insurance in the private and public welfare sectors, through lectures and practical applications to case studies.

Seminars: Insurance Technical Aspects
Dr. Luigi Di Capua (Net Insurance) hold a seminar series entitled "Capital Rules and New Accounting Principles for Insurance Companies." The course will explore, with reference to insurance companies, the rules and algorithms for determining solvency ratios and for the balance sheet valuations of technical reserves and financial assets (IFRS 17 and 9) required by industry regulations, through the analysis of practical cases.

Warm Up Your Skills
An experiential laboratory reserved for students of the Master's Degree in Finance and Insurance, organized by the BCC Iccrea Group, for activities aimed at developing skills to successfully prepare for a job interview.
The seminar series consists of four meetings.

Graduate
The final exam consists of the preparation and defense of a thesis on a specific research topic, developed in an original and in-depth manner by the student, under the guidance of one or more faculty members, in one of the disciplines included in the student's master's program.
The graduate student is required to independently develop a written dissertation describing the problem addressed, critically analyzing and discussing the relevant literature, illustrating and justifying the choices made in order to develop an original methodological or applied contribution, and justifying the results obtained on this basis. The graduate student is also required to give an oral presentation of this dissertation to a specially appointed committee.
The final exam may include internships or placements.
The final degree grade is determined by the commission based on guidelines established by the Faculty of Economics. Criteria include the weighted average of the grades obtained in the exams for the courses of the study program (expressed out of 110), the time required to complete the program, the evaluation of the work done in preparing the written dissertation (in terms of commitment, degree of autonomy, rigor of analysis, quality of results obtained), and the student's presentation skills (in terms of clarity, completeness, and effectiveness of the summary of the work completed).

Crash-courses
Macro, Micro, Math and Stat crash courses
The Faculty of Economics offers Crash courses in Macro and Microeconomics, Maths and Statistics addressed to all students starting the Master Programs in Economics, Health Economics, Finance and Insurance. The courses are in English and aim to prepare students for profitably attending first-year classes.
Crash courses start on September 1st, 2025 and end on the 12th (from 9 a.m. to 19:00). They can be attended in person Faculty of Economics Room 1D (6th floor) or online Zoom link:

Attendance is not mandatory but strongly recommended in order to ensure a common foundation of basic knowledge for all students who will begin regular classes starting September 15.

Pre-course Mathematics - Curriculum Finance and Curriculum Insurance
The Finass Degree Program organizes Crash-course of Mathematics for students planning to enroll in the Master’s Degree in Finance and Insurance (taught in Italian).
The course is taught by Prof. Stefano Patrì, and classes will take place on the following dates and times:

Path of excellence
The Degree Program establishes a Path of Excellence with the aim of enhancing the education of deserving students interested in in-depth activities.
Honours Programmes aim to enhance the training of meritorious students who are enrolled in a degree programme and are interested in further studies and cultural integration activities. Honours Programmes, which includes additional educational activities and provide a special certificate, are promoted by individual faculties through annual calls (Transparency Portal, Call for Proposals - Scholarships and Training).
Access to the Excellence Program is granted upon application. The participation requirements, application procedures, and deadlines are outlined in the single call for applications issued annually by the Faculty of Economics (Link).
At the end of the programme, students on Honours Programmes will receive full compensation for their last year of tuition fees.
Minor courses
The program also offers its students the opportunity to earn a Minor in University and Enterprises in Economics, Communication, Finance, and Insurance.
Minor is an interdisciplinary thematic course, which are optional and complementary to the Bachelor's or Master's degree programme, focusing on topics of great relevance in the current scenario and aimed at training professionals with additional skills useful for further studies and for entering the world of work.

Job Orientation
Il Career Service di Sapienza supporta le studentesse, gli studenti, le laureate e i laureati nella delicata fase di transizione dal percorso universitario al mondo del lavoro, fornendo diversi servizi tra i quali:
- assistenza e informazione sui servizi erogati;
- consulenze individuali di orientamento al lavoro;

- catalogo formativo per l'orientamento al lavoro e lo sviluppo dell'employability;

Le attività di orientamento al lavoro possono consistere in seminari, workshop ed eventi tematici sull'orientamento al lavoro, sulle competenze trasversali e su career management skills (ad es. soft skills, redazione del cv, strategie per la ricerca attiva di lavoro, video curriculum, social network, Employability Lab ecc.)
Per favorire l'incontro con le aziende e gli enti, vengono organizzati Recruiting day, Career Day, Testimonial day, Presentazioni aziendali, visite aziendali, Assessment, Business Game, programmi di mentoring o altre iniziative inerenti al placement, comprensive di quelle con gli Alumni e le mentorship aziendali. Tali eventi possono essere realizzati sia online che in presenza e sono finalizzati alla ricerca dei profili più idonei per le opportunità professionali offerte dalle imprese.
Sono a disposizione di studentesse e studenti, laureate e laureati anche seminari, workshop ed eventi tematici dedicati al placement (ad es. innovazione, start-up, incubazione di impresa, focus sulle professioni, Innovation Camp, ecc.).

Gli strumenti che ll CdS utilizza per l'inserimento nel mondo del lavoro delle studentesse e degli studenti iscritti sono:
Orientamento professionale, con servizi di consulenza per aiutare gli studenti a capire le proprie inclinazioni, interessi e competenze, e a scegliere il percorso lavorativo più adatto;
Tirocinio e stage: opportunità di esperienza pratica in azienda o enti che permettano di mettere in pratica le competenze acquisite durante il corso di laurea; tramite servizi di Placement di Facoltà e di Ateneo, giornate di incontro con le aziende, dedicate alla selezione del personale laureato.
Formazione mirata: vengono organizzati workshop e laboratori per lo sviluppo di competenze specifiche richieste dal mercato del lavoro;
Tra le iniziative promosse, si segnala l'attivazione di canali privilegiati finalizzati all'inserimento lavorativo o all'attivazione di tirocini, sia curriculari che extra-curriculari, eventualmente connessi allo sviluppo di progetti di tesi per il conseguimento della laurea magistrale. Tali opportunità si concretizzano attraverso collaborazioni con primarie realtà operanti nei settori finanziario, assicurativo e attuariale, tra cui: Gruppo Iccrea, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A., UBS, Horizon, Net Insurance, EP Produzione, Fides S.p.A. (Gruppo Banco Desio), Fondo Byblos.
Il CdS organizza, in collaborazione con le aziende, incontri di formazione trasversale sulle soft skills, con la finalità di valorizzare competenze richieste in ambito accademico e nel mercato del lavoro. Le attività espletate sono le seguenti:
· Warm up your skills (Gruppo BCC Iccrea): attività orientate allo sviluppo delle capacità comunicative per la creazione e personalizzazione del proprio curriculum vitae, e pera simulazione di un colloquio di lavoro.
Laboratorio sulle Soft Skills, coordinato dalla Facoltà di Economia in partnership con l'associazione Young&CO in compartecipazione con alcune aziende nazionali ed internazionali, fornisce un percorso formativo-esperenziale finalizzato a supportare la crescita personale e l'approccio al mondo del lavoro, con l'obiettivo di fornire ai partecipanti gli strumenti per apprendere ed interiorizzare le principali “soft skills” necessarie per operare con successo negli ambienti lavorativi, migliorare l'approccio alla ricerca del lavoro, affrontare in modo efficace i colloqui e i test di selezione, mettere alla prova le capacità acquisite svolgendo attività pratiche (business game; stage per studenti meritevoli).
