Course program
The competitive labour market. Monopsony and the minimum wage. Unions and collective bargaining. Human capital, education and workplace training. The matching in the labour market and the active labour policies. Urban economies, labour and wage. Family policies. Payroll taxation. Working hours regulation. Migrations. The examination programme for attending and non-attending students may include different selections of these topics. The detailed programme will be communicated during the course.

Books
The lecturer will release study materials during the course. As a complement, the suggested textbook is Boeri T., J. van Ours, The economics of imperfect labor markets, Princeton University Press, 2021, only the chapters corresponding to the syllabus and which will be indicated by the lecturer.
Frequency
Attendance will be only face-to-face. Students are strongly recommended to attend the classes.
Exam mode
The examination consists of a written test with open questions. Possible supplementary assessment methods may be established during the course by means of in-depth work and classroom presentations by students.
