Course program
The program is designed as a transformative journey that guides students from the theoretical understanding of social entrepreneurship to its practical application through the development of real-world projects. The journey begins with a foundational introduction to social entrepreneurship, where students explore the profiles of the most influential social entrepreneurs and start to outline their personal path in this field. This phase introduces the defining issues that characterize the academic and practical debate on social entrepreneurship.
The second phase of the course focuses on creating social change through opportunity identification, where students learn how to recognize social entrepreneurial opportunities and transform them into concrete ventures. The third module is dedicated to building the social business model, exploring the role of the business model in launching social enterprises. By using the business model canvas adapted to the social context and analyzing case studies, students learn how to develop business models that effectively generate social, environmental, and economic value.
The fourth module addresses funding strategies for social enterprises. The fifth and final module explores the theme of measuring social impact. The course adopts an innovative pedagogical approach based on project-based learning, which integrates theory and practice through the analysis of real case studies, the development of personal projects, and the direct application of the methodologies learned. Each student develops a social entrepreneurship project throughout the semester, from the initial conception to the final presentation.
The evaluation culminates in the Pitch Battle Competition organized within Invitalia's Entrepreneurship Lab and/or in collaboration with business partners.
The course is enriched by testimonies, collaborations, and partnerships from the regional and national innovation ecosystem.
The course structure is both theoretical and practical.
