- Pulmonary clinical history and chest physical examination - The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the main respiratory diseases - The main respiratory clinical signs and symptoms (i.e. dyspnoea, cyanosis, cough, sputum, hemoptysis) - The principal diagnostic tests in Respiratory Medicine (i.e. pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas analysis, cardiopulmonary exercise test, chest imaging) - The invasive and non-invasive procedures for the diagnosis and management of the main respiratory diseases - The effects of smoking on the lungs and the available multidisciplinary therapeutic interventions - Acute and chronic respiratory failure - Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome - Bronchial Asthma - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - Pulmonary emphysema - Lung bronchiectasis - Idiopathic and secondary Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILDs) - Sarcoidosis - Pulmonary hypertension - Pulmonary embolism - Cystic fibrosis - Community-acquired and hospital-acquired pneumonia - Tuberculosis - COVID-19 - Pleural effusions - Pulmonary vasculitis - Idiopathic chronic cough
