Course program
Contents: Contents: Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology in Diseases of. CNS, Chest, Cardiovascular, G-I tract, Uro-genital apparatus, MSK and Breast. Attività Pratiche Professionalizzanti (APP) - Practical activities in CT imaging - Practical activities in Breast imaging - Practical activities in MR imaging Responsibles: prof. Carlo Catalano, prof.ssa Valeria Panebianco, prof. Andrea Laghi Practical activities: These activities will be carried out in the CT, MRI and Breast Units of the Radiology Division at Policlinico Umberto I and CT and MRI Units of Radiology Division at Policlinico Sant’Andrea. The students will follow both experienced radiologists and radiology residents during their activities, to be part of a true “radiologist’s daily experience”. More specifically, the aim of these practical activities will be: - to practice CT/MRI safety protocol and imaging rooms best practices; - to assist experienced radiologists and radiology residents evaluating indications and contraindications to perform specific advanced imaging exams; - to understand the routine workflow in a CT/MRI/Breast session - to understand how to set a CT/MRI protocol based on clinical indications; - to investigate the radiological anatomy; - to investigate the basis of CT, MRI and Breast imaging diagnostic work up, especially in oncology. Thanks to these concrete and representative activities, the students will be able to: - understand and learn safety standards and good practices during radiological sessions; - apply basic knowledges of CT, MRI and Breast imaging; - verify the appropriateness of clinical indications of radiological exams. These learning objectives will be tested during the final exam, applying them to clinical/radiological cases.
Prerequisites
Requirements: In order to take the exam, the student must have taken all exams of the previous years and the first semester of the 4th year.
